At the core of Sally is a custom-trained AI companion that processes and responds to spoken interaction in real-time, housed within a natural shell form. The shell's organic exterior contrasts with the electronics embedded within, creating a deliberate tension between natural and synthetic materials. Powered by a microcontroller running real-time audio processing, Sally can send and receive audio, trained specifically on user interactions to create personalized responses. The piece was developed in collaboration with Quentin Bolsee, combining custom circuitry with machine learning algorithms to enable fluid conversation between user and artificial intelligence.
