DESCRIPTION

Mended is grown from certified organic, non-GMO seed stock through accelerated biological cultivation. The mycelium-based textile grows itself into a knitted structure over a ten-day period, eliminating traditional manufacturing processes entirely. The material is cultivated on a three-dimensional form, allowing the living organism to develop directly into wearable shape without cutting or sewing. Upon completion, the mycelium is deactivated while maintaining its structural integrity, resulting in a durable textile that retains flexibility and strength. At end of life, the garment is fully compostable, decomposing naturally within one week when returned to soil. The cultivation process produces zero textile waste, as the organism grows only the necessary material.
