DESCRIPTION

Glitch Sensorium consists of three interconnected elements that transform environmental data into tactile experiences. The Oracle, a custom-built thermal display system, captures live weather data and translates it into ephemeral heat patterns using nichrome wire embedded in heat-sensitive material, creating visible epicycle patterns through controlled temperature changes. Mushroom-grown seating elements, cultivated from mycelium substrate over ten days, provide fully biodegradable furniture that returns to the earth within a week of use. Capacitive touch sensors integrated with living plants create an audio feedback system that responds to human touch through custom electronics programmed in Pure Data. Developed in collaboration with Quentin Bolsee, the installation combines digital fabrication techniques, biological cultivation methods, and responsive electronics to bridge synthetic and natural systems.
